Artistic markings at Albyberget in Sweden
These stunning and colourful DecoMark™ markings have recently been applied in the residential area of Albyberget near Stockholm. They are a part of an art project that aims to create an outdoor environment which is a safe space for everyone.
Can markings be art? Well, if you ask Swedish artists Karen Froede &. Mikael Richter the answer is yes! They have used our DecoMark® markings as part of the art project "Var-Dags-Rum´", meaning “Living-Room”.
The aim of the project has been to contribute to making a safe and comforting outdoor environment at the residential area of Albyberget which stimulates activity and community on an everyday basis. The idea is that no matter where you are at Albyberget, you should be able to see at least one unique piece of art. This could be lampposts decorated with homely lamp shades or street signs with alternative inscriptions such as “you are here” or simply “home”.
The artistic and colourful DecoMark® designs are another example of this type of artwork, and they undoubtedly brightens up a walk around the small paths of the neighbourhood. According to the artists they are inspired by the unique floor in the Milan Cathedral, and they are good examples of the many possibilities provided by the flexible DecoMark® material.
When it comes to creating decorative markings, you are limited only by your imagination. So if you have an idea for a marking project, then don’t hesitate to contact Geveko Markings and let us help you along the way.
Below, you can see a short video from the application which gives you an idea of how easy it is to give dark asphalt a colourful makeover.
