Safer Danish roads with ViaTherm™ LongDot
The Danish Road Directorate has announced that they will be replacing all lane markings on the Danish motorways with ViaTherm™ LongDot within the next 5-8 years.
Low noise, high visibility and increased safety. These are the characteristics of ViaTherm™ LongDot, which will soon be found on all Danish motorways.
Most of us probably know the uncomfortable feeling of not being able to see the road markings clearly in dark and wet weather. Hopefully, this feeling will be reduced with the Danish Road Directorate's decision of having ViaTherm LongDot applied as lane markings on the Danish motorways within the coming years.
With its revolutionary pattern, this Type II marking combines high wet night visibility with the low noise level that is normally only provided by flat Type I markings. This is possible due to ViaTherm LongDot’s unique drop-like pattern. By draining the water away from the surface of the marking, car lights are allowed to be reflected in the marking even when it rains. This means that preview time for drivers is increased by all of 50% which can be a huge contributing factor to ensuring a better and safer traffic flow.
