TacGuide™ lead the way for the visually impaired in Fredericia, Denmark

The municipality of Fredericia expands their accessible pathways around a local hotel and conference centre by 1.2 km using Geveko Markings’ durable TacGuide™ material. This enhances mobility in the already inclusive environment.

Owned by the Danish Association of the Blind, Hotel Fuglsangcenter stands as one of Denmark’s most accessible buildings, offering a wide range of services for people with disabilities. In 2020, as part of an initiative to enhance mobility at the site, our tactile markings were first installed as a sensory pathway. Building on the success of this project, the municipality of Fredericia recently decided to extend the pathway by an additional 1.2 kilometres – and that extension is now complete.

Once again, our TacGuide™ material was chosen for its reliable performance. Our durable, slip-resistant tactile markings provide essential wayfinding cues, helping the blind and visually impaired navigate safely and independently around the area.

Dan-Markering competently handled the application. First, they prepped the asphalt surface with TacGlue before applying the TacGuide tiles on top. Finally, they lightly heated the material with a heat torch to make them set and to harden the glue properly.

At Geveko Markings, we are proud to have played a role in creating an environment that fosters greater independence, orientation, and mobility. This project aligns with our mission to enhance the quality of life for all road users and promote inclusive, accessible spaces for everyone.
