Playground gets DecoMark™ renovation
The old and worn playground at the Sacred Heart School in the UK was given a proper makeover with our decorative, colourful markings.
At Geveko Markings, we believe that it is important to give back to our communities. Especially where children are concerned, we want to do we can to help guide them on the road to their futures.
Upon hearing about a local school’s frustration in securing budget to renovate their tired playground, Andy Price, who is Technical Manager for Geveko Markings UK, approached Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in Warrington to see if there was anything we could do to help.
The Sacred Heart School has over 300 pupils from a mix of different nationalities. They aim to provide a warm, happy and stimulating environment in which the children enjoy learning and are able to appreciate its importance and relevance to their lives. Their motto is “to live, to love, to learn.” Unfortunately, the markings on their playground had not been loved in some time. Being over 15 years old, they had started to deteriorate and break up and were no longer usable. The school were therefore keen to have the playground rejuvenated to help promote fun and active learning in their pupils.
The team at Geveko Markings went on-site in September to apply an exciting selection of DecoMark games, including a hopscotch and the alphabet, and to also refresh the sports court. The centre piece to the installation was a large map of the world which expresses the diversity of the school’s pupils and at the same time is a great learning tool.
The headmistress at Sacred Heart is very grateful that we were able to help them and everyone at the school are overjoyed with the result. Andy Price even received a letter from the Head Boy and Girl expressing their thanks and how excited all the children were upon seeing their new playground.
